I think he was a stubborn manager that has altered his style to great effect. Even at Bayern, I predicted he would never challenge for a champions league title, and it's no surprise they won it before he left. His favored football was becoming obsolete as teams were moving towards counter-attacking football (the movement started because of his dominance at Barcelona). Now, he has proven that he isn't one dimensional as many thought he was. I've been impressed.
