It's clearly a headache though, this here selection. Who else do we have who can play in no. 10? Anyone dare to suggest that it could be Gomes? Richy?

If there's a game to see if Bernard is up to playing in the middle it's Cardiff. His eye for a pass and dribbling ability suggest he's got what it takes to play there and it also allows us to have Bernard, Richarlison, Lookman and Walcott on the pitch at the same time. Think the only way Cardiff could cope with that is kicking us off the park but that allows us to capitalise off set-pieces (particularly if Mina's starting).

Boot will have been a precaution. If it was so bad that he couldn’t move, he would have been subbed earlier and probably left the game on crutches.

If he’s crocked for Cardiff, Bernard can play there and Lookman gets a run out wide. No game there.

If he’s fit, great. He’s playing well and he’s becoming a key cog in what Silva wants to achieve. Could still do better but is doing better than last season.

Because they were stats. It works in something like baseball because its a massive analytic sport. Even tho the STATS said he was doing well he looked well and truly the same player from last year which is to say, lost.

That being said, he has kicked it in to a completely different gear since late September.

The way Silva and Gomes-Gana have set up to play more to his strengths have a lot to do with it. And the belief that comes with it. Should've had a sweet assist on the weekend.
