He's been brilliant for all of this season in my opinion mate. He had to bank about 5 games because of how much goodwill deficit he was in from last season.

Against Soton, for instance, he was fantastic. That was game two I think?

He's our best player and he's currently proving it week in, week out.

I don't think he's necessarily our BEST player but he IS proving the whole "worth it" lately.

And the Southampton match I agree with but he wasn't all that good around there otherwise.

It was never that people wanted him to fail, it was that he needed to run the matches like he did at Swansea. He has been doing that lately.

He has a couple of weeks to recover and if he is looking borderline for Cardiff he should be benched and saved for Liverpool. Bernard can come in to number 10 and Richarlison to the left.

He played on after an injury during the game last season too. Then he missed the last 8 games of the season.

He did have to do more.

He is now doing more and as a result, he is playing very well on a consistent basis.

Whitewashing his performances from last year make you no better than Ricky Rider.

If we are to give credit to players then they must also be open to criticism.

Although I do think he suffered from the managerial disaster last year so he can have a free pass for me.

He was played out of position last season.

So like others have posted before, I'm willing to give him a pass.

Having said that, despite being out wide and all the chaos that was going on at the club he was still one of the better performers.
