Well, very poor last year...
Ok at the start of this season then excellent and now poor again.

For a 29 year old record signing he needs to be fsr more consistent.

Unless we are playing well hes a non entity.

If he cant up his consistency then he'll be punted in the summer...need consistency in such a key position.

That's what I can't understand. A 10 yard run-in and put your laces through it. Even if the keeper gets a hand to it he'll end up in the back of the net with the ball. This two-step fancy dan crap really gets my goat.

You could see in his body language, he just didn’t look assured, it’s almost as if he’d changed his mind in his run up to where he was going to put it.

Could be wrong, but I’m sure I heard he’s now missed 3 of the last 6 pens he’s taken?

I don't agree with that, but why not play Dowell, DCL, Lookman and Davies in the U23s sometimes, just to keep them sharp?

He just doesn’t strike them with any conviction, keeps going for the nonchalant powderpuff effort waiting for the keeper to commit, but he’s not got the skill or brains of someone like Hazard to pull it off. If you look at someone like Baines, a lot of his penalties go in the same place (keeper’s right, bottom corner), but they all go in even if the keeper guesses right because he strikes it so firmly and buries it. Sigurdsson never looks like he believes he’s going to score.

Again, if he’s 25 of 30 for his professional and Iceland career, I’d say he’s decent.

Hazard is 44 of 51.

Baines is 26 of 29.

Of that top 10 penalty takers in PL history, only Le Tissier and Henry were better conversion wise than Baines. So we’ve been frankly spoiled.
