Sigurddson is being played too far forward. It means that most of the time, especially with his willingness to close down the opposition back four, we're playing a 4-4-4-2 and playing that formation (only 2 midfielders!) against top sides like Spurs is simply asking for trouble. He should be playing 10-20 yards deeper where he can receive the ball under less immediate pressure and have more time to pick the through ball. In this regard him and Dowell are very similar.
Silva has got to drop the 2 wingers idea, play just 2 up top, and use the extra man to join the midfield battle.
