Only marginally, the role he plays is arguably the most pivotal in an attacking sense in the modern game. Like salah, hazard, alli, now pogba, he’s given some freedom to be creative and spark attacks but unfortunately He provides a telling pass every 8-10 passes, has no pace, doesn’t beat defenders and his set pieces are now cack.

Player Valuation: £40m
He thinks he's a playmaker who sits deep, but he sucks at it. Plays no defense and is clueless positionally. Still has skill and talent.
Has the search party we sent out 2 months ago found him yet because he's been missing ever since.

The search party cant have looked far if it couldnt find our 2nd highest goal scorer, do they have eyes?
When he had the ball, he made stuff happen, bar one sloppy pass to Bernard in the second half.
When he goes searching deep for the ball it negates his game. What I will say is maybe he could show for it more, but we're also playing almost exclusively down the wings, yet all of our (half) chances in the first half came from Gylfi getting the ball in the 10 position.
Everything he does is one or two touch. Compare that with Dom or Theo, who need about 17 before doing anything.
Gylfi looks better with Rich ahead of him and tbh, Rich looks better central, because they dovetail well with each other. Back to that for home games, pls Marco.
How many has he set up this season?
Hardly any really, considering the type of player he is, its quite an appalling assist record.
Hes the player with the most chances created in the squad tho.
He can put the ball in the goal but for the other 89 minutes he offers very little.
Everything he does is 1 or 2 touch because he panics in possession and can't run with the ball or go past a man.
The one through ball he played for Richarlison at Burnley is about the only decent one I can remember him playing for months now.
He scores goals but he just isn't creative enough at all and if he doesn't score then he often has no impact on the match whatsoever.
Richarlison at least takes players on and gets us up the pitch as well as scores goals and actually looks worth his price tag.
On patches like this where we look hopeless he should be standing out as a creative spark and he never does.
