While I can, and do, appreciate Siggy’s good points, he was very poor in the first half today and did little, if anything, right, in the second half he improved, as did a lot of the team and contributed to the victory and he got a good round of

It's not that difficult to see, if he isn't effective as a #10 he isn't effective at all. And he hasn't been that effective this season outside of about 6-7 matches where he was stellar.

Ok, once again. WHERE do you want Gylfi in a 4-3-3? You literally said "in the middle 3" which I am going to take a leap of faith and take it you have an idea of what middle means and mean 4-3-3. He's never been effective there. I just showed you that as well. His average "rating" as a CM was in the 6 which is pathetic.

You do realize that part of the middle three includes a 6, an 8, and a 10, correct? Gana, Gomes, Gylfi. That's what we've been playing. That's one of two variants that Silva uses in his 4-3-3. The other is effectively a 4-2-1-3 as I've said before with two defensive mids (Capoue / Doucoure) and a pivot that plays as a 10, but sits a bit deeper (Cleverly). Sigurdsson can play in both formations.
Poor in the first half, better in the second. Having just watched the extended highlights back, he was actually heavily involved in most of our good play. Set up 2 decent chances for Richarlison, which he couldn’t finish.
But he's pretty terrible playing in that area. Just because he's "a 10" doesn't mean he can immediately be better at playing deep.

Also @riddick made the point that on the whoscored stats, when playing as a CM he is the 7th best player in the team. His stats at ACM are still good but dropping every week as his half a dozen excellent games has skewed them massively.
As for us playing a 433, well Gana is at 6...Gomes has to drop back almost into a 6 position to receive the ball so they are fairly close together on paper at least. Then theres a massive gap with Sigurdsson very high up the pitch...
