Look, I have no problem sitting him down - Silva liked to play a 4-2-1-3 with Watford at times with 2 DMs. Who would those be on this team? Silva has 3 competent center mids on this team and they play very specific roles. They aren't very adaptable, which isn't his fault.

He definitely said, along the lines of Siggurdson not being suited for it so we’ll need to adapt the formation to suit this useless Icelandic tit

Played well today. Couple of fantastic balls that should've resulted in more. One or two quite sloppy passes but his quality is always evident.

I hoped that he could be the player to link it all together in the final third, but he just stands up front. I'd be happy to see him leave in the summer.

Yeah agree, he was ok today, the judge his performance before the game has even kicked off crowd are out in force.

Easily our second best attacking player after Lookmam.

I just don't think he's good enough for us if we've got ambition. Thought we well overpaid at the time and now, my god what was Koeman thinking. He's too slow on the ball for the modern game and too slow to react to the 2nd ball. The only thing he's good at is dead ball situations and shooting when he's got plenty of time but even those 2 scenarios is becoming a struggle at the moment.

To be fair I like the formation but you need the players to compliment each other which unfortunately I don't think Sigurdsson does. He needs an out an out goalscorer in front of him and wingers who stay wide. I would definitely drop him to the bench just like Walcott and see if that has an effect. On his day he is very good unfortunately he doesn't have enough of them to cover for the anonymous games he has.

I’d change the formation to a 433, drop Gylfi and move Bernard in, there needs to be a fast turnover of the ball and more intensity in the attack.

Show me where he says that. That's ridiculous. He's already played Sigurdsson in the pivot role he played Cleverly in. He's played him in central midfield in a 4-4-2. Silva's 4-3-3 is played with either 1 or 2 DMs.

Here are his exact quotes:

"One second season I used 4-4-2 and sometimes last season three at the back in some moments but 4-3-3 is my system, depending on my No6."

“Depending the profile of my No6, I can play one and two or I can play two and one behind the striker depending on the profile of our No6," Silva continued.

So...under Watford, his preferred 4-3-3 was in essence a 4-2-1-3. Capoue / Doucoure at No 6s, Cleverly as a pivot 10. Really, those twin 6s play more box to box and his 10 usually sat deeper with the wings and CF pushing up the pitch.

When he says behind the striker, he's talking about a position that Sigurdsson can play. With us, he's playing a 4-3-3, that is really a No. 6, an 8 in Gomes, and a 10 in Siggy. I actually think he'd like a Scheniderlin like player to be like Willam Carvalho - and Wilmar Barrios, so he can play both, but he doesn't have the players.
