While I will admit he didn't have the best game when he was on the pitch, I'm certainly not writing Gylfi off yet as I feel he has technical ability to offer us.

I still am undecided about his ability to play number 10 in this team. Bernard would be better at.

Not to say that he's not good enough because he certainly is a talented player, but it's worth giving Bernard as many chances as we can to iron out which will bring more to Silva's system. No matter what Gylfi's got in his locker, if Bernard performs better then he's getting benched.

This is what excites me with these new signings. No more resting on your laurels for the majority of these players. Even 45M Sigurdsson has to prove himself week in week out or he will quickly find himself replaced by whoever is hungrier instead of just thrown onto the pitch because our next best is some nobody.

It’s too harsh to judge him today. Return from World Cup and lack of sharpness is obvious.

Once Bernard is fit, I hope he can drop back and sit alongside Gana, providing tenacity and forward passing which Schneiderlin is incapable of.

Sigurdsson played for half a game?

Walcott had a good chance and should have been played in three times for what would have been one-on-ones

Not sure that's fair given the circumstances.

Walcott did a brilliant defensive job in the right wing after we went down to ten, and also provided an outlet and a threat in attack. Would've backed him to slot had Tosun played him in. Tosun held the ball up well mostly, and did the running of two when Sigurdsson went off. Some good closing down and helped us get up the pitch.

I thought Sigurdsson was peripheral when we had the ball, barring a couple of nice runs and touches. Off the ball he is full of running and smart with it I think. But the 10 role was always going to be the last to click imo. Be interesting to see if Sigurdsson can perform well enough to make it his.

In what world? He touched the ball twice and it was to put corners onto the first man’s head and into the keeper’s arms.
