Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson have combined for 19 goals in their last 40 games. The same amount Ross Barkley scored in his last 150 games for Everton.

Or how about, in their last 150 games for Everton, Richarlison, Lukaku, and Sig have combined for 73 goals. Ross Barkley in the same amount of games scored 20.

And who did Ross have to play off of to get those assists? Oh yeah, Lukaku.

Siggurdson goal return is good for a midfielder and okay for a striker we’re he has been playing. Every time silva has dropped him deeper he hasn’t been good.
Please don’t try and tell me he hasn’t played stiker review the heat maps.

Our problem is playing 4 up Front with 2 in midfield it is killing us.

But surely that is a crucial factor in how they should be judged. If we sign a player on a free and they're crap, it's annoying but it's no biggie. If we sign someone for £50m, you rightly expect they're going to be a huge player for us.

It makes sense to if they are a value for money signing sure. People beat siggy and say he’s crap because he’s 45m and say DCL is good because he only cost 1.5m and I know who’s the better player. Cahill was loved and scored less than siggy has because he cost less. 45m is expensive FOR US and we seem to think it’s 2001 and that 50m buys you zidane quality . 45m doesn’t but you world class and that’s what people seem to be expecting . Richy cost the same and isn’t as good a player at this moment in time I know he’s young but that doesn’t effect the quality of the player at this moment in time

Sigurdsson good player not worth £45 million which isn't his fault so shouldn't be beaten with that stick. However I sometimes feel it makes him almost undroppable as Silva has to justify why. Stats can be used to fit any agenda so I think people shouldn't get to excited either way. I have seen him a lot in games this year and my personal judgment is that I would take him out of the firing line. In the summer a decision needs to be taken either get players in that suits a system that you get the best out of him or sell him. Personally I would sell him because I think we need more players to build round Sigurdsson than we do to tweak the system.

Siggy is judged on his price tag, but I don't think it's fair to say fans expect him to be Zidane quality. He is a very talented player and capable of moments of brilliance, but he does go missing a lot in games. Sometimes the game seems to pass him by, and then he will give you a great pass or shot when you least expect it. I just wish he was more influential throughout the game - that would justify his price tag more, for me.

Richy is different because people expect progress, whereas Siggy needs to be at the top of his game now, at his age.

I'm not sure who all these people are who defend DCL - from what I can make out, the consensus is that we're absolutely desperate for a striker. DCL may be one for the future (I'm not convinced), but it's not like for like to compare his fans/critics to those of Siggy.

Another example of stats being worthless - Bernard didn’t get credited with an assist for Richarlison’s goal at Leicester even though he put it on a plate singlehandedly for him.

He doesn't have to justify it because he didnt buy. However I had a job where equipment (a crude way of putting it I know!) was bought for me and if I wasn't using an expensive bit of equipment I had to have reasons why and if something went wrong it was thrown back at me. Silva is in a no win position with Sigurdsson because of the price tag. If he plays him all the irrational haters say he is only playing because of his price tag. If he drops him all the fan boys say he is being judged against his price tag not his ability. I quite like him but at the time we bought him we had enough number 10s and we were held to ransom and because of that he will never be fairly judged. He is a player who needs certain circumstances to be at his best and I don't think they are here. Unfortunately because of much we spent on him and how much his weekly wage us we will never be able to sell so he is a bit of a millstone round our neck.

I must be missing something here, how does he get so much stick? He’s our top scorer and arguably our hardest worker. Yes he cost a lot of money but he’s one of the very few I would say have had a positive season.
