...I think it was largely due to the formation Ancelotti went with. The inclusion of a no10 certainly meant Gomes/Davies and the CBs were less exposed. The team just looked better balanced, square pegs in square holes.

it was Sigurdsson playing in his prime position that made the difference rather than ‘just Sigurdsson’.

Yes a 3 man midfield suits our personnel better but can't see CA going that way long term Eggs
 
Gylfi is good, definitely, but the way we play needs pacy counter attacking and energy up front, and I think he slows down the attack too much. Even Barkley at his best is a better fit for the type of player we are looking for, Ozil is showing that the type of player is not suited any more to the PL, and maybe 'tactical' no.10s are a bit past their time.

Wish we could swap him for De Bruyne.
 


Can't believe he is still here, will be heavily disappointed in Carlo if he keeps him this summer
