He's on about 100k a week feller not a chance Swansea are ever paying him that

It was a much improved performance from Sigurdsson as it was from some others as well.
It shows that Sigurdsson can only be most effective in the position that suits him best and doesn't have the athleticism to play other roles.

I don't think he has a future with us because he won't want to be just a squad member which is quite likely and I don't think we can afford to have our most expensive signing sitting on the bench.

However, there will be other clubs who will feel that he has a lot to contribute and could be bought for reasonable money.

I have no doubt the guy can play but I have also no doubt he is a waster and if we keep him he will saunter his way through next season the same way as he has sauntered his way through this one. We need someone who is going to drive the team forward and keep everyone honest. If we are to improve we have to rid ourselves of Siggy.

Carlo Ancelotti has stated that our win against Sheff Utd was largely due to the performance put in by Gylfi Sigurdsson, and today said that next week the club hopes to enter into negotiations with Sigurdssons' agent with a view of extending his contract with us by a further two seasons. Let's hope Brands can get this done.
