No, you posted heat maps with Idrissa in the team, in kits from two years ago.
I would suggest due to injury to Delph, Gbamin, Gylfi has gone back to CM - not his natural position to do his best for the team, outside his natural positition. We have an available midfield of 8s, one will sit, one will play more advanced, the alternate that in game deciding who goes and who holds, its simple Sunday league stuff.
I think Gylfi is rubbish there, but I don’t think he’s a central midfielder, so I find lads with an agenda against grinding the axe, when he’s showing up for the team (unlike some, Bernard & Delph) and sacrificing his own game, poor form really and frankly unfair.
He’s sacrificing himself & game for the team, so I find the abuse he gets unfair. I think it’s agenda driven, you yourself seem to gone of to deconstruct a top goal scoring season to minimise a good contribution, that is the definition of confirmation bias mate.
Right, and Sigurdsson has always been the 8. Gomes and Davies have sat; Gomes particularly so. Davies tries box to box and fails miserably at it.
I think you're confusing Sigurdsson being utterly crap and incapable of getting forward effectively from midfield with him being a 6.
Also, your other problem is Sigurdsson has been proper, proper crap wherever he's been asked to play - wide left, advanced playmaker, central midfield, makes no odds, he's been woeful since he arrived bar around 10 games total. And that's not hyperbole; he's genuinely had around 10 decent games total in over 100 appearances.
Sorry mate, I don’t agree with that assessment, maybe we won’t agree on it and that’s ok. I watch every game, one will sit, one will be more advanced it’s not set, they decide depending on the context. If anything I think they hold conservative lines and defend and advance together kind of like centre half’s to compensate as 8’s, but told not to go to close to the D, about 15 yards is the invisible line, to be able to recover the break down and counter.
That’s fine mate, i don’t think you ever ratted him and never wanted him. I don’t agree with your assessment of the player, I think he’s been great at 10 in 18/19, match winning, like you I think he’s less effective out wide, unless at inside forward, hes not a winger either, he’s a 10 pure and simple. Thankfully every manager and Carlo here has agreed with me since he’s been here in terms of quality and has always been in the team. As I say here hasn’t been a great move for him and we haven’t got the best out of him. He’s an excellent PL player capable of double digits in PL goals or assists and we’ve used him poorly.

Coutinho was good for 3 months, Sigurdsson outperformed him in literally every single PL season. Gylfi at 22 years old had similar stats to Coutinho's when he was sold for £144 million. Same amount of goals & 1 less assist. I sincerely doubt losing our best player will somehow improve us. Look...

Like I said. Not a fan by a long shot. But he's playing in a totally different role. Deep lying Midfielder is way different to playing behind a striker. That being said, his lack of effort and marking players when we have the ball so he doesn't get it is piss poor.

How do his stats compare with centre forwards that season?
For me hes very much like Keane. Can only play in one system when he has players around him to cover his weaknesses.
