As much as I’d love to see him gone, I think he can at least be somewhat useful if he buys into the subby role. I’m just afraid he won’t as he didn’t before James was joining. Whenever he was subbed on he did the same fapping about that he did when he started. Can’t be having that.

A sub should normally come with some pace or strength to take advantage of tired players
If he just sits in that central role he’ll block everything

You would like to think with a midfield 3 of Allan, Gomes and Doucoure behind him, he could focus on attacking and assisting more. Maybe the pressure will be off and he can have a better season?.. But

he (in my opinion) had a very good 18/19 season and fans here were still in his back.

He was always on a loser because of his price tag. He was never a 45m player.

It's a shame, because he was our best player in 18/19. Top goalscorer too.

He's had two poor seasons and one good one.

He just isn’t adaptable enough. Hi is suited to one style of play and if we don’t set up that way he is ineffective.

He won't get away with just coasting along anymore, he's one who needs a proper kick up the backside if he stays, last season was shambolic from him with not even assists and goals to cover for his lack of courage.

I thought Siggy mostly did fine when he came on from the bench last season. I think he'll have a decent season this year even if mostly as a sub. Said it before, you could do a lot worse than having him coming on as a sub.

We vastly overpaid for him but that wasn't his fault blame koeman/Walsh. Was ok the first year but you could see as a midfielder his main asset was his goals. He wasn't a creative force at all but had good energy levels. last couple of seasons he has lost some of that energy and his goals have dried up as well. He is on a massive wage and will probably see his contract out here Just a very average midfielder but I think Carlo will use him as a squad player. If we're getting rid of midfield player Delph Davies Bernard should be first in the queue

Think Siggy will score/assist goals this season (good ratio for minutes played). Agree with your assessment of other players except for Bernard - I think (hope) having creative players around him will provide a real boost for him.

I don't think he's coasting and I don't think he doesn't try, he's just much too slow

He missus is well fit so he will need to move her out before James arrives. I expect him to go somewhere far far away... Kansas maybe?
