If what I’m seeing lines up with the objective numbers, I’m probably right. But it’s not about the stats. My guess is you had no idea how Silva set up the team. Probably haven’t seen Villa play. Probably could even understand the tactics in the game if you watched it 100 times. Probably don’t even understand the stats if they were in your face. Probably never read a tactical book. Probably never took a coaching course. It’s about understanding the game and most that don’t would rather sit behind their computers and take cheap shots. Probably would never say what they say on a message board to anyone in person.
This is probably one of the most arrogant and patronizing posts I have ever read here.

You might have a point but when you put it across like this nobody is going to acknowledge it.

You don't know scousers if you think they wouldn't share their opinions to people's faces. Go to a match at Goodison and you'll hear them.

What about the other chances? Like the backheel that sprung Richy for what would've been a penalty and the through ball for Coleman that he had wide open, all day inside the 18 on the touchline and botched the cross? Other than the DCL layup and the Walcott miss, were there better chances all game?
I'm not saying he was bad but if we are talking about Coleman could have crosses it better as a good moment that probably isn't enough either. He had some decent moments, it was probably better than Watford and Palace, but we need players who can turn their touches in the final third to actual production.

I just think if you're citing key passes you need to acknowledge that both shots at the end of those passes were from positions that had very little chance of ending in a goal. One was Digne's volley that had to get through 16 bodies and the other was Richarlison having a go at the end of a 30 yard run from 25 yards out. That's really nothing from a creative standpoint.

It's ABSOLUTELY ARROGANT, PATRONIZING, and completely DESERVED. And I almost guarantee accurate in this particular instance in every way.

Because it was in response to this comment: "Because this guy is a troll and pretends stats are everything like we are playing Top Trumps."

And having been to Liverpool and met plenty a scouser, you are correct, they would share their opinions, but surely wouldn't start in on anyone like that unless they wanted to get their heads beat in. Because like MOST decent humans, they have an element of respect for each other. Much like you'd find in most places like my hometown and several other working class cities in America. Which is why people in Liverpool in my experience were wonderful, decent, hard working people.

That's fair of course. Although both passes were indeed impressive. I mean, that corner was pretty sweet. The quick pass to Richy to spring him on the break was pretty slick, too. I thought he played a good game, especially compared to his teammates. I definitely wouldn't have subbed him off.

And I have no problem with playing a different lineup - if we aren't playing well, we have options, use them. But this guy gets criticized for some of the strangest reasons I've ever seen and I still don't understand it.

Most scousers wouldn't hesitate to call a tit a tit to their face. Being up front over politeness is one of the things that separates us from the rest of the country.

So don't be too surprised if you encounter it here.

Stats don't paint the whole picture I'm afraid, especially regarding Sigurdsson.

And OF COURSE the stats don't. They are just part of the reality, but certainly worth considering if they seem to tell a particular story.

Dude, I'm from Pittsburgh. EVERYONE is up front. And it's great. But you walk up to someone and call them a troll, my guess is you aren't going to like the response. Which I would assume just like you, I would never do. My guess is that this poster wouldn't do it either, but thank goodness for keyboards and the interwebs.

Lads this is too far off topic.

I think the one stat we can all agree on is that this @CRIMHEAD fella shouldn't be allowed within 100ft of a school playground.

Anyhow I think Gylfi has been poor so far in the opening 3 games and needs to deliver more if he doesn't want to get dropped for Iwobi.
