Transfer Rumour Gylfi Sigurdsson

I am uncomfortable with us doing what has been done unto us for years, but I guess it is the way of things though Swansea need him more than we do IMO. If the price is £50m so what? We are just pushing Sky/BT and Manure money around, some comes our way and we push it on and the net effect is inflation, progress eh?
Agreed, number 62.

Don't know about the effect on siguardsson, he's an experienced player, but I wonder if having Rooney on board now, will give us more hope of securing other targets? It has certainly raised the profile of the club. The opportunity to learn from Rooney must be some motivation, alas it looks like the player who would benefit most from Rooney's presence (Barkley) looks like he will be leaving.

Certainly having Rooney on board will make our targets more likely to fancy coming here than not.

I understand that Swansea are adamant that he will be traveling with them to America when they fly out next Thursday as they hope to use the time away to persuade him to stay. I haven't been able to confirm if we have made a bid but I'll keep you updated if I hear anything from my friend.

they don't though. they built there team around Llorente, with Sigurdsson dropping out wide a lot of the times

he's better with better movement around him

Their strikers changed each season (Bony, Gomis, Ayew, Lorente). He was the only constant. The target man was a focal point of attacks but he's always been their main man and driving force for seasons.

Reading between the lines, 'there has been very strong interest in Gylfi' would suggest a bid has been made.
