If the player forces a move, then we may be able to get him for £30-35m.

But, at the end of the day, can't whinge. We've just held out for £90m for Rom and made sure we got it.

They have every right to demand a big fee.

£50 million seems expensive, and at that price we should probably walk away, but there's part of me that thinks sod it, spending that kind of money will make heads fall off, and it's one in the eye for the net spend crew (even though they'd spin that it's only because we've over paid).

To me, though, this reeks of Swansea fearing a backlash and leaking a story to the local press.

I'm not saying it's untrue, but I'd say take with a pinch of salt.

It's all spin. Like the Thick Of It, but with less swearing.

If they want £50m, then I doubt we'll pay it.

All games.

But just don't expect this to be done quickly.

After the grief the vice chairman was getting last night it's a possibility. Sell for £35 million then get both clubs to agree to "undisclosed fee" to save face.
