Im really quite surprised most of our supposed targets are currently EPL based.
We have a guy like Walsh who is supposed to scour the world for the best talent, yet the current targets are right under our noses.

It's all part of the cunning plan to stop Newcastle and Spurs following us around and swooping in. That why we sent him to Italy to put them off the scent........

this is the one we need most imo. Especially if we get giroud. Siggurdsson and Llorente were pretty lethal last season when i thought llorente would be a bit of a flop, but if we brough those two in they'd compliment eachother brilliantly. People say about him replacing ross, he's only a set piece specialist. A goal is a goal, doesn't matter where it comes from, every team gets plenty of corners and plenty of set plays, barkley has been taking pretty much all of ours for a couple of years now and they've all been pretty poor, so i don't understand that argument.

He also offers so much more than just that too. Him, klaassen and sandro roaming around all 3 of those attacking spots behind giroud with rooney and barkley in waiting on the bench is a whole bunch of good options to me.

On average only 14% of a team's goals come from set pieces.

He's inferior to Barkley because Barkley is much better at passing the ball forward in open play, where the majority of goals are scored.

*picks % out of the air, you might say that but I couldn't possibly comment
30% of imported players don't make it in the Prem...we're minted but not that minted to risk it...and that's before you see if they gel in the team.

Im a new poster to these boards, so maybe Ive missed something, but Im not entirely sure I remember us being elite in the EPL for a number of years. We've had a mixed bag of seasons in the past decade, don't let a bit of cash go to your head.
With the exception of the top six, the final league positions for rest of the division has chopped and changed each season. There is definitely cause for optimism, but some folk on here sound like City fans.

"Cash go to your head".

Liverpool fan

I probably watch more of Swansea than most on here and he's a very good player, lovely touch around the area, good eye for a pass and a lot more than just set-pieces. Obviously his weakness is his pace and he's not going to take players on as Ross does but he's a very good link man and a threat around the box, the money mentioned is just head-spinning though.

I guess it depends what Ron wants in a player.

He's gangly and awkward, but he is deceptively skilled. I love his back-heels and those awkward outside the foot through balls he does. He'd probably be a better fit for a Koeman side than Barkley.

top 7 mate, i've provided stats before stating how it's definitely more of a top 7 than a top 6. I think last season was only the 3rd out of the last 10 where that "top 6" have all finished inside the actual top 6 positions. Liverpool have been yoyoing in and out of it over the last 5 years themselves.
