It actually cannoned off the defender, but I have to say I think he did well last night. Controlled his big silly stretch armstrong legs much better and did a couple of nice bits of skill. That period after half time where they dominated he couldn't get near the ball and it was like having 10 men, but all in all subtle improvements.

I thought he linked very well with Rooney last night. Rooney seemed to aim for him as soon as he picked the ball up in midfield.

A far more industrious performance last night. Lovely through ball for DCL which was asking for a penalty. Decent delivery for the fourth goal.

Confident there’s more to come from him yet.

The trough ball was actually a tackle by the defender. But he played much better yesterday and is looking more confident

I have always loved the Sig

Looks very encouraging his running off the ball has been so much better. Now fine tune some passes and I know Sam knows the importance of set pieces so he could become what we thought he could be or even better.
