We spend 45 million on a player and start by chosing not to play him in his favoured position. We may be mugs for paying that much for him but it’s idiotic how he has been utilised most of the time.

Like at Spurs? Like when he first got to Swans? He averaged MORE goals per minute when he wasn’t taking spot kicks.

It’s not like this guy just had a couple goals and assists, too. He had 9 goals and 13 assists for Swans last year.

Yeah you can quote his stats but that doesnt make him a plaumaker which is what we need. Stick me on pens, freekicks and corners and id probably register a few assists and goals doesnt make me a playmaker.

I accept if you have a 6ft 4 lorrente in the side the lad will get more assists from set plays but we dont have a llorente and most of us dont want to base our game on grinding out a 1 nil win from a set play.

Well he did have the worse percentage of passes on Saturday. Even Scniderrat had a better pass percentage than him

Stats innit
Morgan should have the highest % on the team by a mike in his position. Every week. Pickford probably has a low % as well. Like every club in the league. Stats, yo.

What’s likeable? He runs around a lot?

Do you like Bolasie as well because he does “mad tricks bro”.

Both are ale house

I think hes a decent player. And hopefully we'll see that if the team gain confidence and start winning. And yeah i like Bolasie

Hahahaha. Now his passing is poor?

You guys are unreal.
I literally do not rate him very highly.

Didn't want him, even less so for 45m, and he's proven that we didn't really need him to be honest.

I really think he should be influencing the game to a much higher level.

Against West Brom he had countless opportunities to play in Tosun on a little run, or Walcott for example, and he just falls over.

He has a strange habit of doing flick ups as well, and in our team which is seemingly devoid of all ball control - it really doesn't aid our attacking play. It just slows it down or leads to us losing the ball.

He's not a playmaker who will dictate play, he's a skillful player of individual moments and the ability to link up and take strikes/set pieces. We way over paid for him but also our system and personell hasn't been getting the best out of him. He needs pace around him and runners to pick out, we have very few legs in the middle and very few runners beyond him so I blame the system as much as he has been a bit disappointing. But I can't blame him entirely because this is a malfunctioning team the lack of options for a player on the ball are very limited. He was building something with Rooney and his form was gradually improving after weeks of having nobody to link up with and having to cover Martina every game but Sam benched Wayne.

Yeah I'd agree with this - he's just not got a whole lot of support around him.

His lack of pace is something I always go on about, especially with his price tag. This is just amplified though by the lack of pace of Snides / Rooney / Vlasic / Gueye / Davies depending on the squad. If it was only Sigs who was the slower of a pacey midfield, I think we'd be judging him in a different light.

I think the midfield is a bigger problem than we as a club, are willing to admit however - and it's going to need looking at properly in the summer.

Lots of midfield with very little creativity in it is one of the things that's actively killing us right now, particularly in the middle.

I watched the West Brom extended highlights again, and its even more apparent Siggurdson was as awful on the offensive side as Schneiderlin was on the defensive side. The first cross from Walcott he should have made an attempt to get into the box for either that or to help Vlasic and did neither. Then on the great interplay between Tosun and Walcott, when Tosun crosses it the defender misses it and Siggurdson makes no attempt to strike the ball at all, he just awkwardly stumbles around past it. Thats not counting his other 2 shots that were blocked, and the one they didnt show where hes 5 feet off the backpost and just whiffs.

He then gets our best opportunity to start the 2nd half, and instead of a 3 foot layoff to Tosun takes it himself to get blocked. Really had 3-4 of our best 5 opportunities come to him and just took them all badly.
