Excellent today.

That's the player we were willing to break the bank on. Today for periods he was much more like the player he was at Swansea. A constant thorn in Palace's side with his relentless pressing, great feet, shots and constant attempts to get his fellow forwards in on goal.

He was unlucky a few times in the first half with some really clever low-percentage but potentially goal-creating through balls. They go down as incomplete passes but they're how we'll consistently break down stubborn defences. This is why many claimed he'd be an improvement on Barkley. If he keeps this level up he'll be twice the player Barkley ever was.

It also helps tremendously that Walcott can actually carry the ball (he has turned us into a very competent side in spite of Sam). Walcott has taken on Barkley's role and then some which his allowed Sigurdsson more time and space.

Played well today. Seemed on it from the off. Very nearly pulled off a few superb though balls. Let’s hope he’ll eventually justify his price tag.

Involved in two goals again today.
He makes things happen
Involved in all three actually.

Yeah, he tries some stuff that is absurd in and around the box and can't quite pull it off, but he does create goals, simple as that, from minimal touches. His free kick was flat out, too, just got unlucky. Keane was good today, but he missed another decent goal scoring chance today.

Agreed. It would be interesting to see what would happen if Siggy played in the middle and they put Bolaisse out wide and sat Rooney down. My guess is that he'd play pretty well, but the current lineup is probably the best one.

Hes easily worth 45m.

The criticism of this guy is a joke at times. Technically hes brilliant; his work rate is fantastic and his output is increasing by the month.

I just wish we had a left footer who could allow him to be deployed behind the front man.

We should boo him every game because he was not and will never be worth £45m. He needs to be getting 20+ combined goals and assists in the league to be considered a success.

Not good enough.

The RS paid 37 mil for Salah mert.

With the change we could`ve bought a " better " than Martina left back.

I know who I would rather have.

Chalk another one up for the Steve " gravy train " Walsh scouting system :coffee:

Did you also know this during the summer?
I mean, last time Salah was in England was for Chelsea and he was the living embodiment of "pace and nothing else". Now he's improved, obviously, but he was a gamble as well.

We did overspend on Gylfi but it's not like he put his own price tag, and we knew exactly what we'd get - solid and reliable midfielder who's usually great at set pieces. We got exactly that, shocker. And yeah we were foolish enough to give that amount of money, but it's silly season, transfers go for stupid amounts.
