This Rick Ryder seems a bit of a fruit loop but its genuinely odd so many people don't see Siggys value to the team.

As for the price, he cost less than Lacazette who has scored three more goals than him. Morata was nearly 50% more and has got about 5 more goals. He was less than half the price of Pogba, a similar price to the Ox.

William was being bigged up by some trendies in the bolasie thread but he has never scored more than 10 league goals in a season in 8/9 years of trying. His fee would be about £100m in todays money. Herrera cost £30m or so before the latest spike, wijnalfum cost £25m etc etc

We definitely overpaid for him. Most of those players you mentioned there have been flops. We paid £45m for an alright player.

Honest opinion he's a decent player, would've been a good addition at half the price, but now way good enough to justify the fee or be our main man. Wouldn't get near a top 6 teams squad let alone staring 11

I'd have said a third of the price probably, given his age and inconsistency. The rest is all true.

Can't beat a man. Dubious. Linked to first point anyway.
Doesnt look for the ball enough. Covered the second highest distance last season, unless he was always running away from the ball its a problematic stat.

His first touch, even under pressure is immense. Hardly ever loses it. And most of the time his passes hit their target.

His lack of pace is why he's not at a top 4 club. He's top drawer in everything else.

I think I 'get' football more than most but its truly a mystery why so many are blind to his qualities.
