yeah i know, i share all those concerns as well tbh. lacazette got a good run of games near the end of the season, but that was mainly down to aubameyang being cup tied in europe tbf, would hope he may have got frustrated with playing second fiddle, not making the french team and a new manager coming in who didn't buy him. Hope he'd just want to play football.

Like i said, we probably wouldn't get anyone, there is a genuine lack of top strikers out there, but i just think we need someone a bit better than tosun to get top 4 imo. He's perfectly good enough to get 15 or so it seems, but not more. Can always wait another year i suppose, if we get a goalscoring attacking midfielder that may be different i suppose.

Icardi yes, would happily have him, doubt he’d come but let’s throw an offer in anyway.

He scored 36 in 85 at Wolfsburg, he’s a very capable striker. Wouldn’t break the bank to get him here, but he’s not far off being a 1 in 2 striker.

Rashford, if we could get him, would be my choice.

I think that’s it really, I don’t honestly think we are targeting top 4 this year. I think trying to set a style and go for 7th or 6th will be the realistic plan. And tosun can do that. I’d go with him this season (unless someone quality is available and happy to come to us).

well if mo salah can get 4th there's nothing to say brands can't find us a player who takes the league by storm and get's us top 4. 6th has to be the minimum aim again, i'm sorry but we'll get nowhere if we just target finishing above burnley and leicester.

I really think Tosun, Walcott, DCL as back up and co can combine to get us a few goals in the future, if coached properly, with good tactics. It doesn't look like a scary attack on paper, and they don't look either the best examples of a) big physical strikers, b) speedy or skilful particularly, but they might be the type who need to combine well, and with a good attacking midfield or wing backs could be successful. There are still examples around of strikers with no particular physical attributes who might be able to get 20 goals a season.

DCL is championship level at best

I think there's no point if we don't aim for 4th even this season. I know it may not be realistic, but if we don't aim high it's pointless to spend money and time on new structure. There are plenty of examples of quick turnarounds and quick rebuilding processes. I know it's unlikely but we have to aim that way. If you tell the players and staff that 6 or 7 is the target, how does it push them to work for better results? It's like that tactic of trying to play for a draw, which is so hard because you can't decide to play for a particular position - got to just aim for the best!

He looks that way now, but like we keep repeating, all the young players should get a free pass for this year, no tactics, no coaching, no mentoring and a car crash season. May as well give another chance so that Brands and a new manager can judge properly

Do you not think we're setting our sights a bit high at 25 mate.? Even Lukaku only managed that once in 4 attempts for us, and has not really been near it any other season.

If you look at the last 10 years in the premier, only 8 players have managed to score 25 or more in a season. Kane has done it 3 times, Rooney and Van Persie twice, and Salah, Ageuro, Lukaku, Drogba and Suarez all once each. That's some line up of world class strikers.

Anybody who can get 15 on regular basis is doing ok in my opinion. If Tosun can do that and another 2/3 chip in with double figures we'll be doing fine. From the existing squad, the likes of Siggy, Niasse, Walcott and possibly DCL and Lookman are all capable of getting close to double figures in an attacking line up.

I just feel as though it's wrong to judge our attacking players based on last season under Koeman and Allardyce. Let's see how they do under an attack minded coach and also see how the likes of DCL and Lookman develop. If, at the end of next season we need to upgrade then so be it. For the moment, my view is that there are at least 4 other positions within the starting XI that need fixing.

Nil satis nisi optimum mate. Delusion or intent, it can be viewed any way. Like I said salah was brought in and did it, with the right scouting we can find a couple of players who will see us achieve it.

The RS did that when Suarez left. Now they have a 20 goals a season striker to go with the 10 & 15 ones around the squad
