Im judging them both on what they can do, Ross is clearly struggling atm, career wise, at their best, theres not a lot of difference for me, but I would pick Barkley at his very best over Iceland.
I really like Iceland, I think hes a very good player, I just think Barkley at his best is better than him at his best.
Whether we ever see Barkley at his best again, is doubtful at this point, his career really does appear to be going down the toilet.
I don’t think he does. Barkley is quicker and stronger but Sig has better technique.
Physical attributes / ability aside Sig actually has a brain which makes him a much better player.

Can it not just be that he’s a decent player? Are people not allowed to be decent anymore? He’s not awful but he’s nothing spectacular. Works well in a very functional and incredibly well drilled Iceland side. Kind of how he stood out in a very poor Swansea side really. Hopefully he can contribute more for us next year under a competent manager.
Didn't score as often or offer as much in the final third though. All we miss about Barkley is how he carried the ball forward, nothing else. Sigurdsson worked harder and is mentally stronger as a footballer.
Barkley has marvellous technique and I think some of our fans actually forgot how technically good he was, his striking of the ball was brilliant
Plus he was direct and could pick up the ball and run with it and drift past people.
He was just mentally weak, and as soon as something went wrong he couldn’t pick himself up. The second half of Koemans first season he was unbelievably good

Barkley looked like he was going to be a proper star. But for whatever reasons has stalled badly.
Iceland has got better with age is much more mature in his play, technically sound and does not run around looking confused.
He hit a worldy from the half way line 2 minutes into his Everton debut and I instantly forgot about Barkley.
Maybe judge them better when Barkley hits the same age.
Neither has Gylfi, launching in the odd deadball or hitting a worldie. He goes missing for such a “great player”.
Barkleys ability was held back by a mental weakness that he couldn’t overcome, but he always offered for the ball and wanted to be involved
