As I said, he's the star player in a team which comfortably beat England under 2 years ago, and just drew with Argentina. Barkley can't even get in the squad. That's a pretty significant indicator.

First - can you prove Barkley is a better player?

Second - wish Barkley was less of a rat and more committed, then we could have a direct comparison, couldn't we.

Third - star player for superior team (on result of last meeting) vs not even in squad of inferior nation. Subtle but important difference to your assertion.

Gylfi is better than Ross.

Ross has potential to be much better. Whether he lives up to that potential is the question and always has been.

Stats from when Barkley was playing with one of the best strikers in the league and Gylfi was playing with DCL and Niasse

You also need to factor in that Ross was always likely to give the ball away in dangerous positions , and rarely worked back to cover either.
Combine that with a bad attitude and wanting to leave (including shafting the club) and we are better off rid of him.
