It's just laughable now.

For me it's harsh but it's the rules as they are at the moment (whch suck)
The offside was quite close. Beto was offside but it wasn't a glaring 1-2 yards or anything - funny how out of all the examples that could have been highlighted this season it's this one that does the rounds.Absolutely. The flag staying down stuff only came about because they moaned. They'd go crazy if a wrong offside flag prevented a goalscoring opportunity for the big six. The only way out for the linesman is needing to be absolutely right 100% of the time, and that isn't going to happen.
Can't help but laugh at pre Madonna though, sorry.
More headline and focus giving questionable decisions against the top sides. 50-50 decisions become 75-25 in top sides playing lower.I don't think it's a penalty, because the position of Onana's arm is justified. But, given the refs have to make about ten considerations in about five seconds, I can see why the ref (or in this case the linesman) has given it. I think VAR has worked in the way they say it is supposed to, because the judgement that Onana's position isn't justified isn't 'clearly and obviously' wrong.
The problem is the bias. This might be given in a game between two sides they've judged to be big. This might be given in a game between two sides judged not to be big. Is it given against one of the big six (seven in time) for the small rest? Absolutely no chance.
I want to make a point about not having penalties as often for us. It’s actually really predictable that we would get far less than the top sides or even than average. We don’t have the ball in the box as often! You can’t get fouled in the box if you aren’t first in the box and more often than not in possession. I’m not making this an indictment of our style at all, but one of the drawbacks is that we are far more likely to concede penalties than our opponents are. We are also far less likely to give up a goal from a turnover in our defensive third like the one we scored last night. So there are positives and negatives but I’d like us to understand that there is a real, non-bias, non-corruption reason for some of what goes on with penalties.I honestly don't have a clue what is handball these days.
Same with offside and second faze ?
It's ruining the game.
I caught a game on tv of a German Derby game the other week , it was remarkable the difference in the way the use Var, much less intrusive , hardly noticed it at all , think they disallowed a goal at one piont but it was clear.
At the moment it looks to be favouring certain teams in the prem and not others.
Have we had a pen this year ?
If we were not about to move to a new stadium, this would have been my last season. The game is rigged and it isn't even subtle.Football - you will always love playing it.
( Especially as a kid )
But how long til you couldn't care less
About watching it. ( Especially as a kid aswell, which will be the death of the Game/Business.
Sad days !!!!
Apologies if posted, just seen this on Twitter, pretty much as all of us would call in August before a ball is kicked...

Except the opposite happened against us vs Manchester United.Commentator said when the pen was given that it will be unlikely that VAR will overturn the refs on field decision. VAR loathe to disagree with a ref when a decision as crucial as that is made so protected ref. Now if the ref didn't give a pen then VAR would probably attempt to agree with the ref unless totally obvious. Think we would have got away it.
Yep I agree. That doesn't mean I don't think it's a pen just that the refs are inconsistent and normally bad at their jobs. The ref wasn't even giving it against us the linesman from further away gave it.If it was a a City player we wouldn't have been given it
The game I grew up watching is being eroded season by season, it's almost staged like wresling. Losing interest.Football - you will always love playing it.

I actually wouldn’t have as given every other match I’ve watched this season those haven’t been given. The threshold has been much higher for “unnatural position.” If that call against onana was the standard now, then sure, no argument. The issue is it’s not and it changed everything because the ref didn’t have a spine. The thing is for me on last nights penalty...
We would be screaming for a penalty if that was against a team we was playing against and we would go mad if it wasn't given.
It was 100% a penalty. the rule just needs changing.
