Happy Birthday Bill Kenwright

Steve, really?I asked about the £48M because you said his pension was really about the royalties of a play and a film, which you have since changed course on.
I think we better leave this topic with you liking the man I have absolutely no time for, we’re just going round in circles over someone not worth the effort.

I repeat, I hope you are doing okay and wish you good health in this very worrying time for everyone and especially for people in our age group, best wishes Steve.

It’s the little things to me that say a lot about Kenwright, like the start of all the banning of the AGM’s because of awkward questions about his running of the club and appointments. Also when he tried to drown out supporters in the Gladwys with mega volume music when they where ‘doth protesting’
Imagine the reds putting up with this no-monied fraud for 1 season let alone 20 odd

Note.To all the,as usual ‘Old guard’ type of supporters who think he ‘saved the club’.....He bought into a club on the verge of the Prem/sky money and infinate commercial possibilities of wealth for 20 poxy million.
And kept it that way, by deflecting any monied owner that didn’t want to keep him on as chairman.
To me the biggest ‘arl arse in the history of ANY club i know of.

The point I'm making is that Bill has an income for life from his day job, at which he's been very successful. The fact that he legitimately sold shares has nothing to do with it. If Moshiri agreed the price and paid it, thats a good scenario for all concerned. Its obvious that Bill has been 'kept on' by Mosh because it cannot be denied that he knows Everton inside out, and whether the usual suspects agree or not its a fact that Bill has an excellent rep amongst the football hierachy . I can see Bill bowing out within the next year or so,as his health continues to deteriorate, and it might even be with Usmanov taking a higher profile position at Everton. I think the next chairman will be the Russian who is currently on the board. But that is speculation on my part of course. Incidentally anyone wishing to google or search bing on the subject of 'Bill Kenwright charity' might have an interesting read. I'm hanging in there Cameron, still very busy(and spending too much time on here!) Dialysis three times a week means a I'm squeezing 7 days work into 4, but apart from not having ant kidneys at all I'm quite fit for 79....in fact I'm playing table tennis in a week or so ! . After my first transplant in 2005 I played cricket and five a side football, but my knee gave up!. Keep writing Cameron, it keeps the mind active !!

Yeaahh..... but forget that. He's a nice guy "our bill", he's one of us!. Forget a stand, maybe a statue!!

I mean, Everton were league champions in 1987, and we got blue bill on board in 1989. Things have been rosy ever since.

Ants don't have kidneys? Typo! I meant 'any kidneys'!

Had a look at the accounts and here's the tale they tell
1994 the club had 2500 shares in issue which was upped to 5000 in that year (Johnson up from 1 share to 2497, so a kick in the backside of 10 mil cost for his share). In 96 there was a need to raise 15mil so this was done by a form of rights issue raising the capital from 5000 to 35000 underwritten by AIB Trustees who were Trustees of the Johnson family settlement, so any stock certs not taken up were bought by them for Johnson. Johnson acquired 21450 shares at £500 per share so £10725000 total investment by way of shares purchased from the club,.
Total outlay just shy of 21 mil.
Not certain, but I think he sold at 20mil to the consortium which valued the club at about 30 mil so made a loss, but I'll stand corrected.
I really should get a life ;)
and I should do better research...but lets not have too many fact here on GOT, it tends to confuse and upset people.

hi buddies i see the top bloos do not like mr kenwright. these top bloos have done more for everton than any1 out there we are so lucky to have them.
Not that I expect it for many, many, years (for him or me...or thee) but when the inevitable happens somebody is going to have to do some pretty fancy stepping through a veritable mine field differing opinion to write GOT Obituary.

Yes that’s the spirit Steve, glad you can still smile with all your problems, especially the time spent with your Dialysis treatment which is very tiring for you,I’m around the same age as yourself but have been blessed with much better health than yourself. Keep fighting Steve and hopefully Everton will buck the two of us up this season and the seasons to come, very best wishes.

That has all it has been an act. The disgrace just sat back and let the money roll in and the ambition roll away. Rooney was the start and we will never know who else was on a cut. What was factual was Utd when realising Moyes "earnings" expressed some shock. Arteta and the 10Million in cash was one of the smaller in comings. Common denominator hatchet jobs done on everyone who left. Lescott as an example. Boys pen and Jen can't believe their luck. At least I've seen us as a great club and a big club. The fans deserve so much more.

My argument with Bill is that he knew that he did not have the wherewithal to become Chairman
but went ahead anyway and took over. He mortgaged his house in Little Venice to pay for the shares but thereafter
did not put in a penny.

He got lucky having David Moyes who ducked and dived for years, buying and selling players gradually getting the club up the league.

He hanged on in power and when the Premier League's world-wide appeal resulted in the increase in the value of clubs he cashed in. No trophies.. no success.. the glory and scale of Goodison Park reduced..that's Bill's birthday
gift.
