2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

We still never got a shot on target - while Doucs is puffing & panting on the pitch - what does he do ? Highest paid player - ship him out & play some youth - Colin Harvey would have never got in our team aged young as he was under Dyche ......

Our midfield is so slow - he was the highlight along with Patterson last night = pace & using the ball correctly, never seen it much this season other than = HOOF

….not sure Armstrong has much pace, Joey, he’s certainly very composed in possession, can pick a pass and can get alongside and beyond the central striker.

He’s very promising but you can see why he’s being carefully managed as those first games passed him by.

…..I recommend you start watching the youth teams, Joey.

Colin Harvey would definitely have played for Dyche so would Royle, Husband and Hurst. What I’m not sure is whether Armstrong would’ve played at 17 for Catterick. I say that because there was a reservoir of home grown talent back then.

As I’ve said a million times to you, times have changed since we were youngsters.
You have absolutely no idea if this is true and absolutely no evidence to support it. What a bizarre statement. I know your gutted that the ginger handbrake is gone but this sort of stuff is pure fantasy.

….i’m not gutted at all, perfectly happy with the change. Of course I don’t know for certain but I’d be utterly surprised if any manager failed to progress players of that quality, even Dyche. The special talent comes through.

That man wouldn't recognise quality on quality street. Unless it was the man, the myth, the legend, The Gary Birtles.

So we play OAPs then - We have not replaced Gareth Barry or Ross Barkley in our midfield - it's not fantasy as other prem clubs do it Arsenal - Crystal Palace - the other lot - Even city have a youth line - we don't now as we lose anyone good ...

Since the role of DOF - we have blown nearly 1/2 a billion - any good youngster is sold or put on loan to get kicked to bits - I get the fact you have to have a blend of experience etc - but not a Dads Army team -

The forward at Ipswich we sold looks a good player oh we sold him to Sunderland - oh the left back, a USA international at Fulham oh we sold him to Wigan for less than a million -

To say we have had no good youngsters way back is plain stupid, as & when they won trophies ....

As for Dyche he would not play a good youngster if he fell over them - on the bench & that was it .... with OAPs strolling around with hoof ball flying over our no 9s head ....

Better players in the lower divisions than we have ATM in some positions & fewer wages .....

Let's hope if it is DM he can pick good replacements out, which I think he will - Dyche was getting us relegated - end of - hence he was sacked at last .....

Not sure what this has to do with my post, Joey. I'm delighted Dyche has gone and hope some of the younger players get more opportunities as the oldies haven't exactly been tearing it up.

What I would say about him though Eggs is that pass for the first goal is fantastic. The vision to see it, never mind execute it/attempt it is a differentiator. He put it through 4/5 players. We see a lot of mourning midfield players who either pass it safely (mostly backwards) or just run down blind alleys.

You factor in he looks about 6 ft 3 and still.seems to be growing, and there's clearly potential there.

Whether someone can mould it, and he keeps improving is another matter.

But I always look for wow moments with young players. Essentially what can they do that you start to think-ok can they do it regularly. With Gordon the last one, I remember in the derby game him slalloming past 2-3 Liverpool players and thinking that was a thing he had.

The lass Armstrong made, but also the way he controls the ball and takes it make me think he has a level of skill that a lot of our existing midfielders just don't have.

Someone on Twitter freeze framed the moment the ball left Harrison’s foot for Beto’s assist and the vision was ridiculous! Easy from camera angles up in the gods, but down at pitch level to play that was seriously impressive. There were about four Peterborough players in front of him that looked to be completely blocking his view.

It’s a great ball but the challenge is whether he gets that time to to get his head up and play that in the premier league

….wasn’t Gareth Barry an OAP?

Considering Dyche has played Branthwaite Iroegbunam Armstrong Chermiti Simms in the first team during his time here, I severely doubt he would have overlooked players of the quality of Harvey Royle Husband Hurst.

Some people really are losing their heads over a manager who has now departed.

….and the likes of Dixon, a voice of reason amidst the anti-Dyche mania, I thank you.
