2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Absolutely I think that's what brighton did for years as bloom owns a belgian club and it benefitted mitoma , as you alluded to the championship loans never seem to work out even for Gordon and Branthwaite there
Mitoma was 23 when he went on loan to Belgium.
Branthwaite was 21 when he went to PSV

Harrison Armstrong has just turned 18, loans can absolutely ruin young lads at that age.

With Iro and Garner back in training I think this is the ideal time to find Armstrong a decent loan.
Playing decent minutes in 15/20 championship games will do him the world of good for when he comes back into the first team in the summer. I suspect next season there will be a lot more opportunities and minutes for him as Doucoure is likely to leave and there's no guarantee that we'll sign Mangala.
Would be better loaning Iroegbunham out and having Armstrong here as cover

Wow. Great point. I agree with you. Probably best to keep giving him appearances and gradually increase it to see what happens. That’ll inform you for what to do going forward.

Valid point what age was Kaine when he went out on loan? I have noticed that their new potential prodigy 17 year old Moore has been kept in the squad along with archie although that's just desperation at this point

If he looks good enough now, get him some appearances. If he doesn't, get him a good loan. It could be 5th division wherever. He needs to be playing. I would not be bothered if we gave him a go for the likes of Doucore. If Moyes wanted to, Harry could fit into the current team. Easily. It's just a matter of If he is ready or not.

Watching him the other night in our Youth Cup win he was a class above everyone else, not MoM , but class in everything he did . If he was given the ball with his back to the opposing team’s goal he was always aware of the nearest opponent and span away into space or played a simple ball back if under pressure . He was always looking to carry the ball forward and got assists in two goals with simple forward passes. This is u18s of course, but his awareness is better than anybody at this level since Kieran Dowell , with a work rate far in excess of Dowell .

This was one of the few times I’ve watched him play 90 mins lately, something he rarely does now . He's too good for u21s too , but he needs to get matches under his belt regularly which is a bit of a dilemma . There were a number of Scouts watching the other night , even at 18 there are clubs out there who’d take him on loan now. So far he’s been handled very well, I think we’ll avoid a loan in this window , hopefully give him more first team minutes , some games at u18 and u21 and reassess in the summer.

Get him on the bench & give him some game time - & then replace him for Doucs ..... he can play a through ball if your good enough age should not be a barrier.....

Levy knows young players warrant a huge price if they bang (Sunderland have done the same).

If you are at a club that is more about profit margins than winning games, you are more likely to get game time as a young player

Wouldnt push to loan him out next season either.

There will be a dip, and that dip cant be when he's out on loan as it could do more damage.

He's obviously improved training with Premier League quality players every day, and being involved in every match day squad. That is probably better for him than doing what Eli Campbell or Reece Welch are doing right now, playing with inferior players and probably inferior coaches, facility's and nutritionists.
The under 21s can be there for game time and to keep those 90 minutes up.

If he gets 5-10 appearances this season, that's amazing, if he gets 10-15 next season...brilliant, the nasses it again when he hits around the 20 mark.

….a loan doesn’t necessarily mean more game time. Barkley struggled for games when he went out.
