2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

….a loan doesn’t necessarily mean more game time. Barkley struggled for games when he went out.
You go with the better odds. The more experience the better. If he is the talent people think he is, let him fight for minutes where he could possibly get them. If Moyes has no intention of playing him, loan him. You can't not do something just because of the potential of failure. They don't all work out as seen with Broja

Simms had an excellent loan. Lookman had an excellent loan at RB. Dowell had an excellent loan until the manager changed. Just because some failed doesn't mean you dismiss the idea entirely. We can either prop him up for sale or get him experience. Sitting on them is probably the worst thing we can do. I think Moyes doesn't really have an excuse to not give him some minutes but he might think otherwise. Up to the manager.

….the key thing here is the lad was 18 literally days ago. Much too early to be even contemplating a loan imo.

send him on loan to one of preston, wigan, bolton, stoke, blackburn, blackpool, burnley, tranmere, fleetword

unfortunately our loan manager is not very inventive and very predictable
Mate you’ve just brought a big smile to the face of @Eggs by suggesting that our brightest prospect for years should be loaned out to League 2 teams Fleetwood and Tranmere who are currently in a relegation battle, proving to his satisfaction that some loans can be bonkers!

Remember when we sent Gordon to Preston and he barely played and they didn’t rate him

Branthwaite at Blackburn too, got dropped after about 3 games and scapegoated by whatever dinosaur manager they had at the time. I’m sure Warnock at Middlesbrough did it with one of our youngsters too and berated them publicly, can’t remember who it was.

Tony Mowbray was the manager. I’ve got a mate who played under him, and said he was horrendous to deal with. Has his favourites and was weak when anyone had a straight conversation with him.
