2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

I'm not sure that's entirely fair. You can - fairly obviously - be out of your depth and look lost as a 17 year old at the top level without it meaning that your entire career is a write off.
Oh I agree, and a few people at the time said similar or put it into the context of “ that this is a 17 year old” . Equally many others , me included , thought he’d done ok for a 17 year old. It’s all opinions . It was the negative comments without context that disappointed me.

replaces Doucoure next year for me

the club needs to be savvy with its spending still and replacing a 32 year old on 100k plus with a better technical player from the academy is a smart move imo

I expect come the summer we will have:

Iroegbunam
Garner
Gana
Armstrong
Alcaraz
McNeil

For the LCM, RCM & ACM positions.

LCM: Iroegbunam/Gana
RCM: Garner
ACM: McNeil

Leaving Alcaraz & Armstrong to compete for both RCM & ACM positions.

Finished 2-2

Armstrong not mentioned in reports on the game...fantastic he was named captain as hes a fairly new addition to international football.

I think Longstaff will be signed too and DCL will be off to the Magpies.
Harrison looks good but another year at Derby will do him good.
Chermeti or a new face? Mikolenko or an upgrade? But above all, I hope the club gets a top right-winger.

….looks like he was substituted on 80mins but he must be the right character to be thought of as skipper;

Longstaff Jesus Christ, how depressing if that happens. He has a year left and turns 28 at the start of next season. Apparently TFG have said they won’t be spending money on players over a certain age

Wouldn't look too much into the substitution, he was the last of 6 to be substituted in the game.

He's obviously very well thought of to reach this level and skipper too.
That loan is doing him the world of good.
Looks a very good prospect .

I didn’t see the whole England u18 game but the bits I did see Armstrong did fine enough in a 1-0 win. He really does look a class act for his age, good ball control when needed , plays simple but effective passes, does his share of tackling back, cleared one ball off the line and even showed a burst of speed up the wing at one time. This is great experience for him , adapting to first team football at Everton ,Derby and now looking comfortable in the England set up.

….i was actually more impressed with his running power that his effectiveness in possession today. Made some terrific runs behind their defence in the first half but was never picked out, wasted two very decent chances (bit of a fresh air shot with a good sight of goal).

It was obviously very warm, plenty of substitutions yet he remained on and had that crucial clearance near the end. No idea how England stayed in front but Armstrong did his bit, plays like a grown-up.
