2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

I didn’t see the whole England u18 game but the bits I did see Armstrong did fine enough in a 1-0 win. He really does look a class act for his age, good ball control when needed , plays simple but effective passes, does his share of tackling back, cleared one ball off the line and even showed a burst of speed up the wing at one time. This is great experience for him , adapting to first team football at Everton ,Derby and now looking comfortable in the England set up.
Agreed. I think he noticeably tired around the 70 minute mark but he was still trusted to see out the game. Positive. He was pretty active in both boxes, maybe should have scored in the first half. For those who didn't watch, he played as the left sided #8 in a midfield 3.

Great see he is starting each week and under that pressure aswell. Really hope can build pn it and break into this everton team at some point in the future.
I really think this kid is the real deal for us and he’ll be competing for a regular first team spot sooner rather than later. But he’s still only 18 and on paper a “ 2nd year Scholar” , at the same stage Gordon was only just establishing himself in our u21s team. He’s been carefully managed so far so I’ll be happy with whatever the club decide, just make sure we hang on to him.

Yeah i am curious what they will do if derby stay up maybe give him another loan there playing each week. I havent really seen alot of him but what i thought looked similar to wharton at palace being good on the ball wanting to get involved.

Think maybe you are just looking at the haircuts mate.

I'd style Armstrong on someone like Rice or Rodwell. 2 of Moyes' ones he's brought through.

Rodwell not pushing on had nothing to do with Moyes and more his attitude
Rice, is obviously showing how good a player he is

in hindsight maybe Rodwell would have had a better career at centre half.

It's been a great growth opportunity for him. He'll be better for it. I have noticed his accurate pass percentage could be better. Below 70% in most matches. He's still learning but that needs improvement to be first team.

I suppose it depends on what pssses he’s making. It seems derby also have less possession. Is he trying to force things with his passing as he’s not seeing loads of the ball, which will hopefully get better with experience.
Jordon Henderson would have over 90% every game and would basically pass it square and back 10 yards all game, but then get lauded for his pass stats
