A thankless job. I don’t think people really understand the day to day job of what the police actually do, or try to do.
Unfortunately some right idiots and wronguns have joined the job which makes it very difficult for the rest. Vast majority just want to do their job like anyone else and go home at the end of the day.

Ok, last year my Son was having an issue with a former friend of his, a much older guy.

He was making threats about burning the house down and coming to the house, so my son rang the police, he was given a restraining order and not allowed in our street. 1 day he walked down our street just as we were coming out, he screamed abuse at us, so I followed him, after I gave him a good hiding he rang the police, who promptly arrested him cos he hit me over the head with a stick. He was prosecuted and we were due to go to court, I declined the court case, due to feeling that I had got my justice.

This is like a mills & boon novel (i imagine).

The police, like all the emergency services, are treated woefully in this country.

Being abused, spat at, assaulted and threatened are a daily occurrence, and that's just the doctors and nurses in the hospitals.


I dread to imagine what a policeless society would be like.
