Tbh the don't exactly dart out at ya , even in the dark you wouldn't hit a brick ! Not sure about thier intelligence , has there been any tests done ?

They have a long-term memory of several years and they can differentiate between individual people.

They're not as clever as cats or dogs, though.

My wife used to volunteer at the RSPB, who help hedgehogs as well as birds.
