Heitinga hints at Everton exit

Amazing to me how he went from Player of the Year to can't get into the starting eleven.

Ego.

If you tell Heitinga he's the best defender in the world he'll agree with you and play like he thinks he is.

If you don't treat him like that he'll think f you if you don;t appreciate how good i am i'm not even gonna bother giving you the player you don't deserve.

Hence why he went from being so good to so awful. Simply because after playing so well he was dropped for a fit again Jagielka.

Which was Moyes perogative to do so, who knows what would have happened to Jags if he stayed on the bench, might not even be here now, Moyes had a decision to make and made it but got sulky ass Heitinga as a result.

That was the game when Evertonians and Moyes finally fell out. He got booed for making a defensive substitution away at Bolton in the cup (and rightly so), and he had a right cob on afterwards. He got so lucky with it

Quite right, got out of gaol really.

Remember that clearly. Turned to us and did an 'up yours' gesture because we were unhappy with a centre back coming on for a striker when drawing with a championship team in the 80th.

Heitinga scored the winner, like, but that's just luck really. No chance Moyes put him on with that plan in mind.

Not denying the reasons. Just saying that it was somewhat astonishing.

I don't think anyone saw that coming at all.

It was obvious from his performances last season that his heart was no longer in it despite his huge wages.

File under 'mercenary'.

Thats rubbish that. he may have gone crap but he has never kicked up a fuss and according to Martinez and from what you can see from the videos on the official website etc he is well liked by the other players.

Hes no more a mercenary than anybody else at the club.

Agreed, he's paid a wage to play a game. Anything more than that is a bit fantasyland.

He played very well for about 6 months of his 4.5 year stay, yet we're still talking about his form for those six months like that is his baseline. Perhaps he just isn't as good as he showed in those 6 months.

rightly booed for making a substitution, or he rightly made a defensive substitution.?

He sowed the seeds of doubt when he made his getting on a bike to Barcelona comment a few years back.

He had one good half season and then began to sh*t out of tackles. Then he was prepared to sit on the bench and pick up a huge wage and run his contract down instead of knuckling down and trying to get into the first team. When he did get his chance because of injury or suspension he blew it - several times.

Mercenary, but not the first Dutch player at Everton to be one it must be said. Cheers Shandy.
