....i’m not sure i’d consider Onyekuru a ‘youth’ signing, I think he was an established first teamer. He’s probably in the same category as Lookman and Vlasic, younger players brought in to be part of the first team squad.

I agree, though, in not being too critical of such transfers because they are low cost, low risk. Not sure many have particularly worked out, but we shouldn’t lose financially on them.

.....yep, fair point. My definition of youth signings are the likes of Gibson, Bowler, Adeniran and even DCL, who come into the youth set-up.

I do agree, however, that the strategy of bringing in the most promising youngsters is one that is working out very well.
