Great win for them and us, hopefully Nigeria can beat them and we'll get to see if Henry is as good as we think he might be (even if Nigeria coach doesn't seem to think he's good by not playing him at all)

Im the same. Being in the squad for a game doesn’t get you a cap. It’ll be helpful if they move up in ranking but he’s not playing in any of their games so I can’t see how that helps in any way.

Everything I’ve read suggests they’ve had to play in games. Which means this tournament has hindered his changes of getting a permit rather than helping.

Can anyone clarify?

I think the thinking is he's played enough games already if they move up the FIFA rankings far enough and getting to the semi final will guarantee they do that.

It’s based on percentage though. If they play 5 or 6 games in this tournament and he doesn’t appear in any then i can’t see how he’ll make the criteria. It’s not like he’s been appearing regularly for them up to this tournament.

Because he's played in basically every friendly in the last year and moving up the rankings will drag the percentage down.
