Because he's played in basically every friendly in the last year and moving up the rankings will drag the percentage down.

From what I’ve read if they get into the top 30 the % drops from 75 to 60.

From what I can see from the last 15 squads he’s been a part of he has played 9 (2 starts, 7 as sub). That’s 60%. If he doesn’t play in the next game it’ll drop to below 60% so he won’t make the requirement. That also doesn’t take into account games where he didn’t even make the squad and I think there’s been some.

On another note him and the Villarreal lad who's name I can't spell probably should be getting time but the coach seems to not trust them as they haven't been with the team very long.

I still don't understand him moving to Turkey instead of staying in Belgium. He was eligible for citizenship there and, thus, EU passport if he stayed that one more year. Makes absolutely no sense.

So not only are we stalling his career with loans to different clubs every year, we're ruining his socio economic status.

He was definitely injured for the World Cup last year. He may have gotten fit right before but the injury in the build up ended his chances regardless.

It did but he played matches following his injury and before the World Cup. He was available for selection so that’ll go against him.

I’m sure I recall he had an argument with his club manager because he wasn’t giving him enough game time to prove his fitness to be selected for the World Cup. He wasn’t injured though, just not selected.

Think he was soured on going back to Belgium after Anderlecht effectively cost him a shot at playing in the World Cup last summer

Oh yeah for the permit it means nothing but it was the injury that caused it to happen. It was very ill timed.
