Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

I'd like this comment pinned.

I witnessed first hand the abuse black players got every single time I set foot in Goodison until the club cleaned up its act in the last ten years. Carlton Palmer, Les Ferdinand, I can still see their faces at they looked towards the section I sat in. Us complaining about others is akin to war era Germans calling out anti semitism.

Everton move to lose 'racist' tag

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo.../3018592/Everton-move-to-lose-racist-tag.html

The only thing on a par with racism at Goodison was the anti catholic stuff I put up with at Windsor park, Belfast.

Holgate sold out by a spineless club more interested in being the nicest club in the prem than standing up for its own players.
'kin blood boils with these jellyfish.

The whole club from top to bottom are filled with people who dont give a damn and have zero dignity. They fail us on every level. The owner's a gormless tit, the manager is a dodgy geezer on the lookout for another jiffy bag, the officers of the club are anything for a quiet life.

They just bent over and allowed Liverpool to humiliate us.

Not having this revisionist nonsense. I came over to Goodison from Ireland on a regular basis and heard nothing but racist abuse churned out at black players. Cease with your utter bullshit.

Everton fans top racist 'league of shame'

https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2000/jan/07/race.world

Mate that literally from 20 years ago and relied on the clubs own fans admitting it.

Only today they were defending a player whi admitted to racism.

Turn it in

The fa-The allegation was made in good faith and no intention of false or malicious allegation, they must of spent the entire time investigating Holgate.
I despise the fa and all the bung takers who work for them, fat Sam go back home.

Are there people seriously trying to suggest that club should have done anything other than it did? What - so ignore the fact there's no evidence, the fact that even no Everton player said they heard it and stake our reputation on going to war over what Holgate thinks he heard? If so, you're crazy.

From the statements issued and the length of time taken to carry out the investigation you could infer that the FA believed Mason had provided a credible account of what happened but were just unable to find any corroborating evidence to allow a charge to be made which had any chance of success.

We have to accept this and move on. Some form of justice could be served by our team finally turning up to a derby game, beating them and hopefully derailng their quest for fourth place.

The club also need to provide Mason with any support required. He seems like he's more than capable of standing up for himself on the pitch but in this mass multi media age it can become unacceptable off the pitch and the club will need to step in and support where needed.

And their fans are all gloating, calling Holgate a liar, saying he should be charged, and conveniently pretending to care about LGBT people.

Like they'd give a toss if it was one of their players making those stupid tweets.
