Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

Saying 'none of us' care is a bit of a generalisation and not exactly fair is it? I agree with you that some of the comments have been daft on this thread and quite a lot of the views I disagree with. I don't think it's fair to brand Firmino a Racist without sufficient and clear evidence and I personally think the thread title was wrong from the start as it implies he actually did abuse Holgate when it was an allegation at the time.

But I also don't think it's right for you to come on here and act like our fans have been out of order as if the Liverpool fans reaction hasn't been as bad, if not worse. I'd personally say that trawling through Holgate's Twitter account to find something on him when it was unknown if he had suffered racial abuse purely on the basis that they didn't like their player being accused is disgusting behaviour. Holgate was the potential victim and yet Liverpool fans once again decided to go on the offensive and jump to the defence of their player when they didn't have the full facts available. A lot are still branding Holgate a Liar now and it's out of order, just as I think it's out of order for some of ours to say it's clear Firmino is a racist when there isn't sufficient evidence available to prove that he is.
I agree with you 100%. I can't add to what you've said. Spot on.

It was utterly superb wasn't it. A meltdown of epic proportions, probably because he had Evertonians riling him up about the scruffs calling Evra a lying b****** and singing Suarez songs.

Dey don't do Racism though unless sumwon deserves it like as dat is different like Evra
I missed that Evra nonesense and the meltdown on here.
How cruel they are to say anything to Evra after what he was subjected too.

If you are talking about Evra he attacked a Chelsea groundsman and was found to of lied about it. He has subsequently been banned for kicking his own fans in the head.

A perfect example of you letting your blinkered view cloud the issue.

There's nothing racist about being an anti-racist mate.

Nice dodge on Firmino apologising for using misogynistic hate speech. It says a lot about your value set, and means you're frankly in no position to go suggesting anyone else is blinkered.

I would urge you as well, cut the racist apologise out. He was booed for being a black person, if you want to justify, minimise or lie about that I suggest you go to an LFC page and go and liaise with the racists. It won't go unchallenged here.

Like you ToffeeTit, who responds to a spineless display by looking to attack the RS who have just won 4-1 and gone second. Concentrate on what we are doing wrong instead of looking to score spite points you [Poor language removed] dipshit.

Allardyce brings on Snides in a spineless act of cowardice and stupidity and you look to post pictures of Gerrard from 4 years ago you [Poor language removed] weapon. Now wonder we are a laughing stock.

With dickheads like you around we will be still blaming Heysel when we are in the 3rd division. Soft [Poor language removed] like you and the cat fondler from Blackburn want us to fail just so you can blame the Red [Poor language removed].

We are a massive Club with a passionate fan base and the more time we spend slagging them off the less time we concentrate on us, it just weakens us. The thing is half the sad fuckwits who have probably never been to a game actually want us to fail just so they can moan about it.

GOT- Gang Of Tossers.

I will be at Burnley next week and if the likes of ToffeeTit and Neo Nazi Davek have something to say then bring a gumshield.

Look mate, cut the bad language. The only person I see going on about Heysel is you. You are right, however much it set us back as a club, we have to look at ourselves for how we responded. We didn't do enough to build the club did we?

I rarely slag Liverpool off. They had a brilliant 4-1 win yesterday. Most of my posts are suggesting we learn from them, and adopt as similar model to them, get a European coach conversant with developing young players, scout the best young players while intersecting that with the added advantage of our superior academy.

Fair play to you for going to Burnley, I won't be there, though I want us to win. I am not sure we are on the right track though so it's difficult. Maybe I fulfil your (frankly quite abusive) paradigm as I won't be going, I went home and away from Smith/Moyes years but can't do it currently, I think it's the bleakest that it's been for years so I have enormous respect for those doing the grind.

The issue in this is about racism and none of the above. Liverpool supporters seem to want to twist a lad reporting racist behaviour on "good faith" and conduct himself impeccably but ultimately not meeting the eventual threshold to the same as being a liar. This is an outright lie that will be challenged.

When this is challenged, either in person, or online you are met with a string of abuse. I have been accused of being a sex offender, making gestures about Hillsborough and Heysel at a match I didn't even attend (I have never made any gesture at any match about either) as well as a whole host of other, offensive and libellous statements for asserting the truth. I will not be lectured to on ethics by them, while their supporters carry on in that way.

Likewise, if their fans are unhappy with Heysel being constantly mentioning it, they can start by stopping mentioning it on any given occasion to people who were born years after Heysel happened and have no desire or inclination to weaponise a tragedy. My experience is LFC supporters are very keen to mention it, but then want to slander Evertonians who have, are or ever will mention the tragedy.

In all of this, I am not really the victim, the real victim remains Mason Holgate, who has been hounded off twitter because of racist abuse, comparisons to being a monkey (and other words I will not repeat here) and even openly trying to organise a lynching. Why? Because he is black? Because he in "good faith" correctly brought an allegation of racism to be investigated?

Anyway, you seem a good blue, I'd tone the language down as it does your position no strength. Keep challenging any Evertonian who tries to weaponise Heysel. While Juventus supporters hold us in high regard for our desire to support them in their fight for justice, ultimately it's not our battle to fight and does us no credit. As a club we a qualitatively better than LFC supporters, and we need Evertonians like you to help us keep our standards and not get dragged into the gutter with much Kopite opinion.

Has he been banned? It's not showing. I'll happily meet the guy, though I have no interest in having a fight, never mind with an Evertonian (or a red if it turns out to be true) and I have no idea what it would prove. I'm not at the Burnley game but would happily meet to discuss his opinions with him.

I don't know what he wants really. I didn't see he wanted to fight people, he always responded to my messages and I had no issue with his difference of opinion.

Yeah he's banned definitely. He's the most obvious red there's been on here in a very long time.

He kept telling people to name a time and a place and bring a gumshield lol

Is Holgate injured at present? Even though going through the motions of going the game at ...havent a clue why he isnt playing as so totally uninterested in this present Everton set up.. ta

Are you sure he is banned, Tim?

I was sure he would be but the normal “BANNED” sign is not appearing by his name, the way it normally is for banned posters.
