Going to

Cologne - Feb for the football
Tel Aviv - April for a bit of sun
New York - June Baseball
Thailand and SE Asia - for christmas and new year.

We love 2019.

My wife still works in a school so generally restricted to school holidays sadly. We've booked a cruise for this August, leaving from Majorca. Particularly looking forward to visiting Florence and Barcelona. Two places that I've never been to.

Went to Florence a couple of years back, absolutely loved it. My favourite place in Italy by some way.

I clearly didn't understand what was meant by "fly and camp holiday" as the only time I've done that, they landed a plane on a glacier in Alaska, dropped us off, and said they'd be back in one week. We packed in all our food and were all alone, even without a radio. No one else was present for miles and miles. This is what I envisioned (and would likely not take a 1yr old there), but if there is a supermarket, doctor, etc., then yeah...all is certainly fine.
That camping on a glacier in Alaska sounds fun
Better not tell herself that I've changed our plans

Yeah, got a few great pictures from Montenegro this summer. I went back to Dubrovnik in August after six years and it had completely changed. Not the town itself which is still amazing but there's just too many people.

This summer I went to Sorrento, Santorini, Rome and Athens and it was the same story there too. There's just too many of us wanting to see these places. No idea what the solution is like.
The only thing that we didn't like about Kotor was the state of the cats who all looked very malnourished.
I love Rome. Found it fascinating, but, lucky enough to visit in February when the crowds were not too manic.

Went to Rome and Florence a couple summers ago. Really liked them both. Didn't mind the crowds in Rome tbh (went middle August). Lots of people create a buzz imo, and it wasn't ridiculously busy when I was there (except for the Trevi fountain at night perhaps). Casa de Juliet (or whatever it is called) in Florence was pretty busy, but good to look round, and the tour/play thing they do is quite fun if you're in to that sort of thing.

Glad you enjoyed it. It was all a bit much for me this summer. To be fair Rome wasn't that bad because as a city it's quite spread out. Dubrovnik was the main victim of over tourism. What is happening there right now isn't sustainable in my eyes.

Prob Venice is the same, that was really busy when we went. Guess they could limit the amount of hotel rooms available in the city. Pretty sure somewhere else that had a similar issue did that, tho I guess with all the money that is presumably coming in, they may not want to do that.

As more and more Chinese tourists find their passports it's only going to increase further. Some cities have scrapped Airbnb, possibly more to the impact it was having on rent prices though.
