Horse Racing

I’ve done Grumpy Charley each way 33/1. Not because I think it will win but it’s never a 33/1 shot.
The favourite looks a good thing and I can see him racing clear but 11 of the last 14 favourites to be sent off at 2/1 or shorter in this race were beaten. Good luck whatever you back.
I did GC last night mate @25s, tenner back though! Any shouts in the first tomorrow boys?

....amazing performance from Chevely Park runners over the last few days at Down Royal. More Specifically; Ballyadam, Quixilios, Envoi Allen and Sir Gerhard.

I’ve got 3 of them in my Cheltenham book at really fancy prices, but i reckon you’d still have a very nice ante-post bet if you put them in a small stakes Yankee at this stage:

Ballyadam (Supreme Novices)
Envoi Allen (Marsh Novices Chase)
Sir Gerhard (Champion Bumper)
Quixilios (Triumph Hurdle)

....nice little interest for anybody who followed this ante-post Yankee I posted 5 months ago. Achievement they all turned up in the races I suggested.

Two winners, a 2nd and a horse that ended up odds-on favourite but fell.

....Minella Times is attracting some support for the Grand National. It’s got a decent weight and has been ridden regularly by Rachel Blackmore. If it does come over and is ridden as expected by Blackmore it could get hammered even more in the betting.

If it’s one you like, I’d recommend taking 16-1 with Paddy Power. It’s the best price on offer & they are NRNB (1st 5 each way terms).

......folk know I have a great voucher on Cloth Cap in the GN, but it’s not actually my biggest potential winner.

I was all over Galvin in the NH Chase at the Festival & backed it from 33-1 last August, but when it was 14-1 I stuck it in a double with Discorama @ 40-1 for the National.

Discorama ran disappointingly last time & I’d almost given up on the bet as I thought he wouldn’t travel over from Ireland but his trainer says it’s had a ‘wind operation’ & it seems as though Aintree is the plan.

Discorama goes best on Spring ground, if it turns up a week on Saturday there will be worst outsiders, especially nearer the time when bookies are paying out on extra places.
