Horse Racing

….put An Tobar into your Cheltenham notebook for next year. Untraced but won its Point-to-Point in extremely impressive fashion, I understand it’s been expensively purchased and is being trained by Henry de Bromhead.

Likely target is a bit of an unknown but 20-1 offered by Hills yesterday for it to win any race was quickly snapped up and it’s now 12-1. I’ll let folk know if things become a bit clearer.

…a while ago I put An Tobar up as one for Cheltenham next season. The above link is his Point-to-Point win (No13 in Royal Blue and yellow). Of the 8 horses in behind 5 have won since, 2 have come 2nd whilst the other hasn’t run.

It’s target is a bit of a shot in the dark, but given it’s age and likely trainer then he’s unlikely to go the Champion Bumper route. That leaves, novice hurdles. The manner of that victory indicates he stays a trip, so Ballymore and Albert Bartlett would be more likely than the speed of a Supreme.

I have him in my book for any race at 20-1, but I have topped up for Ballymore @ 25-1 with Bet365 (Cash-out if another target looks likely).

Facile Vega and Vauban were two winners I put up last year when fancy prices were available, let’s hope An Tobar is the real deal.

I have changingoftheguard at 50/1 for the Derby today, backed it a few days before it’s trail run. Hoping to get a ride for my money.

….£5 free bet at Epsom today with 365.
In the absence of any clue about a winner in any Epsom race today I have plumped for the Derby and a tenuous link to her majesty. A home win for our good lady Queen on her special weekend. Royal Patronage at a fanciful 40/1.

Out of interest where do you find this information- do you sit through hours of point to point racing? You are very dedicated to the sport if so.
