Horse Racing

Out of interest where do you find this information- do you sit through hours of point to point racing? You are very dedicated to the sport if so.

….no, I chat with folk on a brilliant racing forum who love the sport, many of whom are closely involved. It’s about National Hunt racing and geared to Cheltenham Festival. I pass on the odd snippet here.

What’s the forum?

Got to be the worst Aintree card I’ve ever seen today.

Guess they make the money on food and booze as there’s only 30 odd runners across the card.

One to keep an eye on is a horse called Royal Aclaim. Won at Bath today after a year off in the easiest fashion you will ever see. Had one run previously where it won at Newcastle beating Perfect Power who then went on to win 2 Group 1’s.

Being aimed at the Nunthorpe but likely to run in a Group 3 before then.

Right Ascot day 1, just my thoughts so don’t let me put you off anything.

2.30 - Baaeed will win this, but Real world 7/1 ew won at the meeting last year and I this should be 2nd.

3.05 - Persian Force 3/1 looks a monster with 2 wins out of 2 and the form has been franked, I was fearful of Noble Style but it’s now a NR

3.40 - kings Lynn/Mooneista 16/12-1 ew I don’t really know much about the Aussie horse could be anything if it wins fair enough, Golden Pal is my lay of meeting, will go too fast and the stiff uphill finish will be his undoing, burst out at York and faded and that was on flat track, so kings lynn who was so unlucky in this last year and Mooneista will be my picks EW.

4.20 - again I think Coroebus should win but has questions to answer - track and bend that why I’m siding will William Haggas’ Maljoom 12/1 his time when he won at Kempton and when his last outing in Germany he missed the break and was couple of length down and still won going away so if don’t want to back short price fav he’s one to consider 3/3 so far.

6.10 - Cleveland 2/1, just the way he won so easily at Chester and hit line hard

Nature Strip is a quality sprinter, earlier in his career he had a tendency to buckle under pressure and lose a few when odds on fav. But he seems to be more switched on the older he's gotten, i don't think Chris Waller would have taken him over there if he wasn't hugely confident he could win. Plus he'll feel comfortable with JMac as the jock too.

But no idea on the rest of the field as I'm not familiar with racing outside of Australia.

Sorry for todays and late tonight , was unlucky with Persian Force and Maljoom, so tomorrow then…..

2.30 - love Reigns 3/1 WW seemingly think this is his best horse he’s had in this division including Acapulco and Lady Aurelia and to win a maiden by 10l must be good, that’ll do for me.

3.05 - Nahanni 9/2, actually backed him for the derby, tbe fireworks lit him up and I think he would’ve finished lot closer, made up lot of ground aswell.

3.40 - Bay Bridge 11/10, think he’ll win the race the Japanese horse won in Dubai wasn’t up to much and only finished neck in front of Yibir who has been beaten twice at odds on since.

5.35 - Little Big Bear 9/4 I just think he’ll win this if he on form level with last run we’ll clear in ratings probably would’ve fancied for the Coventry and this is a weaker race.
