I see the inimitable Ted Walsh has retired from RTE racing coverage.

Ted was always my favourite when he was a stalwart on Channel 4 Racing’s coverage at Cheltenham.

I could never understand why ITV never used him when they took over.

…..I gave you Jazzy Matty 25-1 for the Boodles Juvenile Hurdle after a professional tipster incredibly gave me the horse for the race 14 months ago. It really is impossible to tip handicap winners that far out but he did it.

Anyway, I contacted him after Jazzy Matty went in asking him to repeat the feat and he told me next years winner hasn’t been named yet but his sire is Blue Bresil and his Dam is called Uppermost. Been keeping an eye out and it looks like he’s now been named and is being trained in Ireland - Midnight Potter.

One for the notebook, I’ll post when prices become available.
