I'm no legal expert but that doesn't sound right. Surely you enter a contract on the basis of the t&cs on the date the bet is struck
I had a yankee up on the football some many years ago with an independent bookie. He wouldn't pay out because he said he didn't take Football yankees. the fact that I proved he did but showing him the slip proved nothing. He took the bet, he should pay.

Unlucky m8. When I was younger I used yo do thd football fixed odds abd ggs every week. I had dome good wins, and Dettori won me some really good money.
I rarely bet these days and only occasionally on the horses and football.

But tomorrow I'm backing Everton to win! Faith!

Got a few quid on the O’Brien trained Illinois 5/4 (now) am on at 7n6/4 12.58 Saint Cloud no as much as I fancied Big Rock yesterday but still think should win
 

…it was a private sale, so it tends to take more time to determine the new owner and which trainer it’s been sent to. I’ll find out.

He’ll be a 5yo in January, so if he doesn’t run in bumpers this season, he’s likely to be one for novice hurdles this time next year.
How is the horse’s name spelt.
