Yeah good news - I don't however see the logic in buying 50% for £6 m. and then believing that the final outlay will be £8 m.?

That Daily Mail article is lazy journalism at its most. The only quotes that are there are about Benfica saying that Fernandes is going nowhere. They then flesh it out by saying we are looking for a striker. (duhh yeah), and then followed it up by talking about Bjarni, who has said he is not looking for a loan move.

Yeah but the only substance in that report is Alan Stubbs talking about Carragher and Lescott.

That's the only bit of realism in the story, the rest is just speculation.

How hard is it to try and get a statement from somewhere? I think its the only string of journalism that does this.

Or at least say, Benfica have refused to comment. I would love to know what their policy is at icLiverpool.

I only say so because the inconsistent reports we are getting about Fernandes to me just says, "We haven't a clue".

I think you're right, anyway agreeing a deal with Benfica only means half the player is ours. If those 50% are worth £6 m. howcome EFC think that they can get the rest 50% for £2 m.?

Only at one maybe two people, but they mean nothing to me.

I know you've not mentioned it before, or maybe you have once. Yeah, we had a discussion two weeks back about me getting annoyed at lying journo's and you loving the speculation they bring.

Ok, on a fantasy level, I do enjoy reading the sunday papers for sensational stories, have done for years. But since SSN developed, you kind of only believe them and not The News Of The World, but its still good to read I suppose.

On a professional level, I dislike the way the journalists lie blatantly and then go on Sky Sports 1 with Jimmy Hill and act all high and mighty.

4 million fine versus 6 million fee.
