We need to shoot. I'm all for people being greedy (mirallas and deulofeu) are the two that do it mostly but in certain situations they should pass it. Mirallas should have passed in the first half to Naismith and it was 1-0.

I honestly believe we don't need a striker as much as I depise Lukaku. We need a playmaker. Barkley will be good but he isn't all that now

Possession is largely a defensive tactic, so while that's a reasonable question, it doesn't follow as a valid conclusion.

Our best run of form was from the Goodison derby scoring 3 we followed that with 4 against Stoke and then the impressive away results at Utd and Arsenal. A major factor in that run was Delafaou. With him, Barkley and hopefully an in form Lukaku back the goals will come.

We have been poor in the final third all season really, it's our biggest weakness. It was the same even in that period of the Man U win and Arsenal draw when we were all excited.

It's not the tactics, as these are the ones we will be moving forward with, it's the personnel.

We have a main striker who is still learning and struggles with the hold-up play and link play that is required of him. Thankfully he was able to score a few despite this failing.

We then have a sprinkling of talent in behind him that are either just not at the highest level, especially when it comes to consistency/final ball, or are young and learning....or in Pienaars case too old and easily tires along with not having the final ball to go with his snazzy and effective link play earlier in moves. Mirallas blows way too hot and cold and I'm still not sure if, in an upgraded squad, he can be so sure to be a guaranteed starter for us.

Seeing us play lately I would say a key signing is a new Pienaar type signing who can play across the supporting three. I'm sure we are getting in a decent striker, maybe Lukaku, on a permanent in the summer. I am also sure we have the squad and manager to make this striker effective for us. So that leaves this link player.

I hope that this area is being looked at, as seeing the games with Pienaar missing or off the pace shows how badly we need that kind of player. The last 20 against Spurs were a load of individuals running at defenders and losing the ball. Not a good idea at all.

We just don't function as well without this link player, most definitely not in the big games.

its frustrating too because they never seem to even go into the box. its 'lets get it to Baines or Coleman for a cross'....where there is one or two players waiting for the cross and 5 opposition players waiting.
