I’ll remind people that they were saying
we need 4 first team players in at the start of the window.
At this point we have probably one - and that’s at the expense of our most talented player. We’ve lost Gylfi and Kean too.

If we don’t get deals done today then it needs to be Brands last day at the club.

Err, we have two, with a third on the way. I think what you are insinuating is tha we haven’t spent a fortune.

Depends if you play Townsend ahead of Iwobi. And either playing depends on the formation. There was no insinuating.
Fair enough. Townsend and Gray are both going to get significant game time.

It looks like Rondon is coming too. He will be competent back up but will definitely get some game time.

Given todays updates, Maitland-Niles also looks like it will happen. If he comes, he will definitely play.

So that is 3/4 who will improve the team. Not a big outlay, but improvement non the less.

Hard to rate the window in isolation.

The solutions found might be the best available in the circumstances but the club as a whole has been run appallingly post Moyes and we are paying for that now.

From the initial performances by gray and townsend, it looks OK. But prior to the window, if you said that our signings would be gray, townsend, begovic, lonergran, and potentially rondon and AMN, would you actually have been happy that we are progressing?

Not sure many would have wanted any of those players near our team 6 months ago. So it's hard to judge currently. For me, all of them are back up players for what we should be wanting to achieve rather than starters, maybe except Gray if he keeps it up, so improved squad depth but still glaring holes.

Maybe a 5 currently unless we bring in someone out of the blue who would actually improve our first 11.
