I'm probably guilty of scanning my mirrors too much (no bad thing) but I'll only signal if another road user will be impacted. My Mrs. is an indicator Nazi and we'll often fall out if there's no other car within a 200 meter range and I change lane without indicating
This.
Mrs is the same.
Also indicates in filter lanes.
I've been in the car with her twice in near 18 months.
I hoping to not have to again for at least another 18 months 🤞

Second time. Failed my first for too many minors.

On the time I passed, I hit a kerb (instant fail usually) a couple of minutes in on my first manoeuvre. Was certain I’d already failed, so the nerves pretty much vanished at that point. Rest of the test went well and the fella must’ve been in a good mood and overlooked my mishap.

First time for me,

stalled it at the top of a hill about 5 minutes in, said to the examiner “that’s that then”, carried on and to my surprise passed, all nerves vanished after I stalled it so must of done alright after that

Hahaha.

The joke is she thinks the fact she signals gives her the right to move immediately.

"Why is that man behind honking and flashing his lights?"

Because you almost forced him off the road moving back into his lane?

“But I indicated!"

Incredible.

It was when she careered across the 3 lanes of the Lancs, indicators blazing, across a van and a bus.
I thought my time was up.
I made her pull over and got out and walked the last mile or so.
Genuinely thought I was dying under a bus in a shitbin Honda Jazz.
I try to be a decent man.
I hope I deserve better than that.

Twice for me. The first time I was turning right and entered a box junction, which you’re obviously allowed to do. I let the car roll waiting for the oncoming car to pass and as I went to brake so I didn’t cross the centre line I felt the brake go down as the instructor pressed it his side. Presumably he thought I was just going to let the car roll into the oncoming one. I was absolutely fuming to the point where the worlds most awkward 17 year old turned to the bloke and said “come on mate, really?” which was big for the time. Failed with one major and zero minors.

Anyway that’s a long way of saying twice but I’ve needed to vent about that absolute knobhead for years.

@chicoazul - I passed in Bootle never been there before - & never returned - failed my first test at Garston a pig of a route there got the chief Examiner Franko - asked me to walk the car up a steep hill {that is in the advanced driver car test} - I got back really shaken up as I was in a Morris Minor car he had me out over an hour - I had more Xs on my sheet than a pools' coupon lol -

Next instructor stated Bootle was a breeze in a mini car - 6 weeks later went there - not knowing the area I drove safely only out 20 minutes passed easy ;)

I passed my Motorbike test 1st time at Widnes - ....
First test was the Kirkdale Centre - instructor told me they had a terrible record, mostly failed people. I felt I drove fine, and was failed on 'positioning of vehicle when turning right' - so the examiner was talking about 65 inches to a foot! Second time I took it at Bootle, and passed.

Minors in my day, one mistake Minor or major = fail- I know the theory is harder now etc plus far more expensive & It's still tough - the same rule applies though - it's the mood of the Examiner plus how many they are allowed to pass on one day IMO ....

My late father in law had no luck - on his motorbike test at the then Pierhead driving test centre in heavy traffic with trams then in Liverpool his bike he was riding in his test he was forced into a tram rail & veered off the Examiners route = failed - then in his car test at Widnes 2 minutes from the end in his own car his brakes failed - Handbrake stop - examiner shame that you had passed, but under the rules you will have to resit as the test is incomplete by 2 minutes lol

Third time for me.

Don't think it helped being 18, who looked 13 with a skin head.

One fail was for not making progress on a country road which I still think was BS, also said I went a bit close to a parked car. The other I couldn't argue like for speeding. Third was the worst out the lot but passed.

Dont know if it's still there but my test centre was st helens - nightmare driving around there.
